Het meisje dat naast me zit,
Vuurrode haardos op een
Blozend koppie
– van de kou, niet door mij.
Althans, dat denk ik –
Steekt haar sigaret op;
Het wachten op de bus
Duurt nu al
Enkele oneindigheden lang.
Zal ik een gesprek aanknopen;
Zeggen hoe leuk haar sproeten zijn?
Of dat ik niet rook, maar haar
Steun in haar onafhankelijkheid
Van staatsgedragen
Gezondheidsaanmoediging?
Bescheiden hak.
De bus stopt. We stappen in,
Zij eerst.
Als ik incheck, en zij treuzelt,
Valt me haar geur pas op
Als saffraan en dille.
Ze gaat zitten en staart naar buiten.
Het sneeuwt,
Zachtjes.

Literature
Dammit all... again
I meet you,
I like you,
I love you,
I tell you,
and then you disappear...
Why does everyone disappear?
Is it me?
Do I come on too strong?
I spend my quiet moments
Looking for what I did wrong...
It hurts the most that I can see you right there,
I try to catch your attention but I might as well be air.
My love never implied romance,
I thought that we were friends,
Good friends... better than good actually...
silly hoppy-happy friends,
Damn this shouldn't hurt this much... i always put too much of myself in.
Well... time to prepare for another disappointment.
sigh
Literature
[flaneur, flaneuse]
States of déshabillé
held close and warm in the news
don't compare to you.
That air, debonair
renders ineffectual,
one whimpers and pries.
To be introspective,
the découpage of my love,
shines, effervescent.
Literature
the love we were warned about: half empty
do you understand?
you’d disappear on city buses
tresses of your hair in pockets on trains, too
you’d get sleep lust ‘round your eyes
and parts of you would die when they would say
or wouldn’t say
they love you
you’ve flicked others’ cigarette ash
from way behind your teeth to trap
your voice inside your tongue
so when the time would come
they’d feel so alive
they’d want to quell the monsters
***
he held you in his arms
underneath a blanket
and you can’t remember which
but in the hum of maybe something
and the hum of passing cars
you slipped your body under him and begged:
press your lip

I love the little cocoon in time you're creating here. I can picture the details clearly and am sucked into this moment with you. Love it
