Literature Text

"Flock,"
Said the rock
As he fell down a cliff,
And landed with a whiff,
On the ground.
Being earthbound
Was rather boring
And caused some snoring
In the rock that fell from above.

A clone
Of this stone
Or his brother
If you'd bother
Just thought the other was mad.
Cause why, good lad,
Would a stone,
Without bone,
Want to fall down again and again?

"Simple,"
Said the rock,
Who was no longer in shock
From the fact that life was boring.
"When one is soaring,
In the sky up high,
You feel like you fly,
Like the birds in the sky up above."

The rock, a true performer,
The latter, not the former,
Decided to walk away,
From where he lay,
But was unable to
Because he knew
That rocks don't have legs.
These rocks, shaped like eggs,
One forever bragging,
And one forever nagging,
Now lay next to another,
Like brother and brother,
For all of eternity.
And that's the way things should be.
Flock said the rock: a short poem about a rock that dreams about flying and another rock that just thinks he's an idiot. Makes me smile a little. First rhyming poem in a long time, and a bit silly too, so let me know what you think :)

Pretty witty, but thoughtful behind that goofiness.
Love it!
